"How many skaters are on the surface per side?"
All adult and high school divisions are 4 on 4 (4 skaters plus goalie). All youth divisions are 4 on 4 (4 skaters plus goalie) except Atom Bomb (age 6 & under). Atom Bomb is 5 on 5 (5 skaters plus goalie).
"Is off-sides or icing called at the Brea Hockey Club?"
As of April 6, 2001, all divisions (youth, high school, and adult) follow USA Hockey InLine rules (no off-sides and no icing).
All adult, high school, and youth divisions (except Atom Bomb) have three periods, each with a 15 minute running clock (except last 2 minutes of 3rd period if score difference is less than three goals).
Atom Bomb has three periods, each 14 minutes. Clock is stopped every two minutes for line changes.
All Youth teams participate in the season ending playoffs. For High School and Adult divisions, every effort is made to send every team to the playoffs. Scheduling and rink availability may limit the number of teams per division. Sometimes only the top 6 in an 8-team division or top 8 in a 10-team division make the playoffs.
